A Look into EAA’s WPDI projects in Uganda
Education Above All (EAA) Foundation organised a media field trip to Uganda, bringing 13 journalists from eight international and regional outlets to spotlight the transformative impact of the EAA-WPDI project. The trip highlighted EAA Foundation’s commitment to peace advocacy and education in communities affected by decades of conflict.
Coverage from the trip reached a global audience, including The Guardian (365 million), Yahoo News (3.6 billion), MSN (657 million), and AOL (6.6 million), with regional and local media extending the impact to 50 African countries and 25 million viewers.
Journalists explored the scars left by Uganda’s 22-year conflict with the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA), focusing on former child soldiers and displaced communities. They covered EAA Foundation and WPDI’s work in training local leaders on Conflict Resolution Education and promoting a culture of peace.

At Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement, journalists documented the struggles of refugees from Sudan and the DRC and how EAA Foundation and WPDI equip youth with conflict resolution skills, easing tensions with host communities.
