Project Status
100,000
Out of School Children
The ROOSC project in Kaduna State, Nigeria, unites a diverse range of financing, technical, and implementing partners including the Education Above All (EAA) Foundation, the Islamic Development Bank (lsDB), Save the Children (SCI), the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED), the Global Partnership for Education (GPE), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), and the Government of Kaduna State, Nigeria. Over a four-year period, the project aims to enrol 100,000 OOSC, ensuring inclusive, equitable, quality primary education for children and adolescents in Kaduna State. This comprehensive initiative is designed to address the social, demographic, structural, and systemic barriers preventing OOSC from accessing quality primary education.
The project focuses on improving primary education service delivery to enable inclusive, equitable, and quality provision in the Local Government Areas (LGA). The project interventions and activities include enhanced access to learning opportunities, and effective participation and completion of quality primary education by all, particularly OOSC and children with disabilities. The project involves systems strengthening measures for improved systems efficiency, and will also support and scale up religious Tsangaya/Qu’ranic community schools.
