Opening up a world of education

Children love to learn. If they are denied access to knowledge, we also deny them the opportunity to change their lives for the better.

“We were four daughters to take care of when my father lost his job. I was in a situation where we were unable to afford my education and the time I could spend at school, was spent at home.” 11-year-old Afnan recalls the time she had to drop out from her previous school. It was a notable gap of one and half years when she secured admission at the First Assalam School. Afnan expressed her mixed feelings of excitement and nervousness at the time of joining the school after long. She recalls the moment of entering her grade 4 classroom to be a very pleasant moment. “She recognizes the School as a comfortable premise where her distinct personality is being modelled for her betterment.” Afnan’s mother added.

Afnan mentions Mathematics being her favourite subject and cherishes a dream of becoming a police officer to serve the country. “Afnan has undoubtedly progressed in critical thinking, problem-solving and inductive reasoning skills at school. She is passionate about obtaining education and is extremely competent at debating as well” her teacher added.

The Assalam Schools have presented the platform to such children to develop necessary skills, attributes and attitudes through education – such as resilience, respect, enthusiasm and creativity.

“I am very proud of Afnan and thankful for the opportunity which will help fulfil her dreams. I believe we had to fight through some terrible days to now see the best days for her life” Afnan’s mother concluded.
