Management, operating and development of Hamad Bin Khalifa Hospital in Boutlemet – Mauritania

The project aims to contribute to the development of the health sector in Mauritania by providing high-quality medical services and building the capacity of health workers in Mauritania by training medical and non-medical staff through the delivery of specialized training courses.

In addition, developing and expanding the services of Hamad bin Khalifa Hospital by providing new medical specialties and equipping other departments within the hospital, and conducting medical campaigns to provide health care to rural areas from the city of Bottelt.

Hamad Bin Khalifa Hospital in the Bottelt area, which is the region located in the southwest of Mauritania, one hundred and fifty kilometres from the capital Nouakchott as a province that includes no less than fifty thousand residents.

The hospital started its activities since 2007 and was the fruit of grants and donations of the State of Qatar. Since the beginning of the year 2012 until now, with the support of the Education Above All Foundation, the Qatar Red Crescent is operating and developing the Hamad Bin Khalifa Buteltmit Hospital / Mauritania where the Qatari Red Crescent is working to provide biomedical specialties, equipping departments, and conducting medical campaigns to provide health care to rural areas. 

The relatively isolated countryside and the provision of quality medical services and health interventions contribute to the development of national indicators in the areas of maternal and child health and other health priorities at the national and regional levels.
