Qatar Racing Equestrian Club Partners with Educate A Child
Launched by Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, EAC aims to trigger significant breakthroughs in providing quality primary education to the 58 million children who are currently out of school.
The presentation of the donation was made between Qatar’s two most important horseraces, The H.H The Emir’s Trophy for Thoroughbreds and the H.H The Emir’s Sword for purebred Arabians - the climax of an eight-day long celebration of equestrianism staged under the patronage of H.H Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani the Emir of the State of Qatar and hosted by Qatar Racing & Equestrian Club.
Commenting on the contribution made by the Qatar Racing & Equestrian Club, Marcio Barbosa, CEO of EAA, said: “We are grateful for the financial contribution made by the Qatar Racing & Equestrian Club and are thankful for the exposure we have received though this important sporting event. The support by Qatari organisations is very important for the success of EAA’s programmes such as EAC, whose aim is to provide access to quality primary education to 10 million out of school children by 2016. New forms of support for education are what is needed right now to bridge the funding gap”.
H.E. Sheikh Mohamed Bin Faleh Al Thani, Chairman of Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club said:
“We are delighted to join the many supporters of this important project and congratulate Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser on this valuable initiative. We hope that by making the presentation during our highest profile races of the season we can help to raise awareness of Educate A Child, particularly among the international racing community and our many visitors from all over the world.”
