“Keep the promise” campaign in New York City
Following the success of its UK taxi campaign, EAA launched the “Keep the promise” campaign in New York City in mid-September to coincide with the United Nations General Assembly, where world leaders will adopt the new Sustainable Development Goals. “Keep the promise” refers to the affirmation of the global community to uphold their commitment to deliver on the Millennium Development Goals. While significant progress was made over the past 15 years, universal access to primary education remains out of reach for 58 million children worldwide. Two hundred cabs will carry the slogan that aims to attract interest and advocacy for EAC's goal of significantly reducing the number of out of school children around the world and deliver on the promise of providing access to education for all.
Eye-catching in their colour and design, the taxi tops will be roving billboards for EAC as they travel around the city through mid-October on New York's iconic yellow cabs.
There are 58 million out of school children around the world who have no access to education, facing barriers which include poverty, conflict, and discrimination. Educate A Child, a global programme launched by Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, aims to reach 10 million of these children by the end of 2016 and provide them with access to quality primary education. Educate A Child, based in Qatar, has recently established an office in London, which will initially focus on engaging audiences from the UK and Europe in particular.
