Children love to learn. If they are denied access to knowledge, we also deny them the opportunity to change their lives for the better.

Calendar icon
ROTA Ramadan Project is an exciting volunteer-oriented community project that will be carried out during the Holy Month of Ramadan and will provide help to needy people in Qatar. It kicked off on Thursday, June 25th, with the preparation of an area of Amna Bint Wahab Independent School for girls that was used for the packing of groceries and as a staging ground for the distribution. This initiative reflects ROTA's efforts to foster team spirit and community welfare among the volunteers and other members of the society. These Ramadan packages have had a great impact in helping many families get through the month in previous years. It has also "helped the local community understand better the different conditions people who are less fortunate endure, as well as become more involved and active in improving these living conditions through volunteer work", said Hazem Idriss, Volunteers Specialist at ROTA.
  • Volunteer-oriented activities the key feature of the project

Following the footsteps of its success the past two years, Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) has already started preparations for this year's Ramadan project in commemoration of the Holy month.

One of the main objectives of this year's Ramadan Project is to give volunteers a chance to give back to their own communities and also to keep them actively involved in ROTA's work, whether in Qatar or abroad. Volunteers who get involved, like to stay involved.
This year, over 100 volunteers will participate in the project and reach out to the local community.
As part of this year's agenda, ROTA will host Iftar banquets at the Elderly Institute and the Dhreima Organisation. Additionally, ROTA volunteers will celebrate the Garangaou day with child patients, and will undertake a new project involving house renovation for three less fortunate families in Qatar.
This Ramadan, ROTA is giving again a chance to students, citizens and sponsors to express their humanitarian feelings, live in the spirit of sharing during the Holy Month as well as feel the importance of their contributions to the rest of the community.
