ROTA Holds Gala Dinner Volunteer & Staff Appreciation Night
Following the completion of the 4th Gala Dinner, Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) hosted an Appreciation Night to acknowledge the contribution made by volunteers, staff and friends towards making the event an unprecedented success. The Gala Dinner and extraordinary charity auction, which took place at KATARA on the 12th December 2011 raised a phenomenal US$ 13 Million, for ROTA’s outreach programs. The Gala Dinner was attended by Qatar Foundation Chairperson, Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser.
The Appreciation Night took place on Wednesday the 11th of January 2012, at Qatar Foundation Recreation Center. Addressing those present, ROTA Board Member H.E Sheikha Dr. Aisha bint Faleh Al Thani conveyed the thanks and sincere appreciation of ROTA to each and every volunteer, staff member and supporter who worked hard to make the 2011 ROTA Gala Dinner such a successful event;
“Even though the event lasted only a few hours, the preparations went on for months, and the success of the Dinner would not have been possible without the fervent hard work put in by everyone involved. Today is our opportunity to say ‘thank you’ – thank you for your efforts, thank you for support, and thank you for believing in us”.
In addition to the Qatar Foundation staff members, Her Highness Office members, Qatar Museum Authority; and ROTA Chairperson Office team members; Her Excellency Sheikha Dr. Aisha shared her gratitude for the Amiri Diwan for their support, Al Majed Jewelry and to the ROTA staff and volunteers. A special thank you was also given to the children with special needs and their parents, those great talented children who contributed to the development of Al Koora Art Project which was one of the unique Auction Items presented at ROTA 2011 Gala Dinner.
Being well aware that the success of the Gala Dinner isn’t an end but a beginning, ROTA Director Mr. Essa Al Mannai also thanked those present at the gathering saying
“The Gala Dinner would not have been as successful without your notable participation and your extraordinary support. I understand that your efforts were done for a higher cause and you seek no recognition, however, we feel it is only appropriate to have you with us today as a sign of our appreciation”.
The 4th ROTA Gala Dinner enjoyed the support of leading Qatari corporations: Gold Sponsor Msheireb Properties, Silver Sponsor Qatar Petroleum, and Bronze Sponsor Qatar Vinyl Company Limited. Proceeds of the Gala Dinner will go directly to fund education initiatives in Asia and the Middle East.
