ROTA Official Charity of AFC Asian Cup 2011

Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), organizers of the AFC Asian Cup 2011 in Qatar, to collaborate on 'Dream Asia', a major new educational, social and cultural project promoting the importance of education for the youth of Asia.

During a press conference held on 29th December 2010, the AFC also announced ROTA as the Official Charity for the AFC Asian Cup taking place in Qatar from the 7th to the 29th of January 2011.

The groundbreaking Dream Asia MoU was signed by Her Excellency Sheikha Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, ROTA Chairperson and Mohamed bin Hammam, Asian Football Confederation President who were accompanied by the Qatar Minister of Commerce H.E. Sheikh Fahad bin Jassem Al Thani, ROTA Board Member H.E. Dr. Aisha bint Faleh Al Thani and ROTA Director Essa Al Mannai and several high profile sports stars.

"For the AFC to select ROTA as its official corporate social responsibility partner is a great honor. This partnership reflects the goals and priorities of both our organizations, and together we will make a powerful and lasting impact throughout Asia," said H.E. Sheikha Mayassa.

Under the terms of the Dream Asia partnership, the AFC and ROTA will collaborate to organize and promote activities undertaken by the AFC Social Responsibility Committee and ROTA on a project-by-project basis.

"I believe Dream Asia will assist Reach Out To Asia in reaching our goal of Education For All by sustaining youth development and education across the continent", said Essa Al Mannai. "As Dream Asia Official Partner, ROTA supports the belief that 'Football is the School of Life', helping to bring communities closer together."

Dream Asia kicks off in Qatar with the launch of 'Midnight Football', a football and culture tournament involving schools in Qatar. The event will be a testament to the fact that football is more than a game. Dream Asia will create opportunities to see new ideas, refreshing and imaginative thinking to translate the meaning of football and hope into real action and sustainable future for the young people of Asia.

For the benefit of thousands of football fans attending AFC Asian Cup matches, ROTA will have a stand in the AFC FanZone to showcase the work of its educational and humanitarian projects. In addition, the ROTA Stand will be collecting donations from members of the public keen to support the charity's educational projects changing lives across Asia.
