Post-2015 Unfinished Agenda @WISE2014
Under the theme of "Imagine-Create-Learn: Creativity at the Heart of Education", WISE 2014 has been set off and closed after 3 days of debating and networking on the issue of the post-2015 Millennium Development Goals Unfinished Agenda, with promising outcomes to the 58 million out of school children. Al Fakhoora, alongside its sister organizations under Education Above All Foundation, has contributed to driving the agenda forward through hosting 3 interactive sessions that were held in the EAA Village.
Furthermore, Her Highness Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser called on all sectors in the Summit to take action to resolve educational concerns for marginalized children and youth via different approaches, which fed into the theme of the Summit- to exploit different technologies and methodologies in the heart of the sector of education for further development. Part of the call to action to accelerate progress included expanding the youth and civil society engagement on the unacceptability of the situation as well as prioritizing quality education for the marginalized, which were the main MDG momentum features of the Al Fakhoora session at WISE.
An engagement of EAA’s Qatari youth advocates with the Al Fakhoora Palestinian students on issues concerning the development of youth in Gaza, civic leadership and global citizenship has been witnessed to experience empathy at a new level and to display the positive role of education in Gaza.
Finally, Education Above All, with the collaboration of its 3 programs, partners and development stakeholders, has pledged to move the agenda forward by direct implementation and amplified use of Social Media beyond WISE, as Her Highness introduced a global call-to-action campaign to include thousands of voices on the matter to an online Thunderclap on 13th November 2014.
