Paving the way for a Future Career
Rami Al Henawi, 24 lives in Gaza city and is in his third year of studying business administration at Al Oma University in Gaza. In November 2013, Al Fakhoora’s Dynamic Futures program started an English language training program at the American center, AMIDEAST, which is arguably the best English language training center available to students in Gaza.
Initially, all students participating in the training were required to take placement test to identify their English proficiency level. Rami was among the candidates taking the test and qualified with a level five on a scale of 12. For Rami “It was a dream for me to join the AMIDEAST English training course. The course has been very useful, informative and involves a variety of skills such as listening, speaking, writing and reading. The trainer did several exercises to enhance our abilities. On the final test, I scored 87%, which I never believed I could get and now I am qualified for the next level!”
Rami added that “My desire to study English is to pave my path for a future career – English is a must-have skill in any job now. So I study with lots of enthusiasm so this becomes something that is part of my life, part of my learning, and part of my experience.”
