Mariam Abu Safia...A Student with a Dream to Become an Interior Designer
"I chose interior design in order to become a great designer." Mariam Abu Safia, a student at the University College of Applied Sciences (UCAS) in the Gaza Strip said. “The students were impressed after seeing the expanded technical workshop building at UCAS, which was done by the Qatar Red Crescent (QRC) in partnership with Al Fakhrooa.
"I have received lots of help from our teachers since the upgrading of the technical workshop building, especially in terms of time management. The new improvements helped me accomplish my homework and projects on time. In the past, I spent a lot of time doing my work at home. It was so exhausting."
Nowadays, my classmates and I are able to do our work inside the technical building and teachers give us their notes directly without waiting for two or three days to receive them. This helps us improve our work, exams and thesis'." Abu Safia said.
"I want to say thanks to Fakhoora and QRC for their generosity and providing many important tools to give us a better educational environment in Gaza." Abu Safia added. She continued, "Students have started doing group activities inside the technical workshop, gaining new skills like teamwork and how to work under pressure."
