Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) Chairperson Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani joined international celebrities and huge number of enthusiastic crowd at the ROTA 5th Wheels ‘n’ Heels Family Fun Day at The Museum of Islamic Art Park on Friday. One of the key highlights of the day, however, was the unveiling of Doha 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Bid Committee official logo, attended by Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson, Qatar Foundation.

Thousands of nationals and expatriates took part in the ROTA-organized family extravaganza, enjoying a fantastic day of entertainment featuring a community cycling event and a Lifestyles Village providing fun and thrills for the entire family.

"I want to thank H.E Sheikha Al Mayassa for attending Wheels ‘n’ Heels. Her support will inspire people to embrace the event’s key message: live a healthy lifestyle through regular exercise, good food and a safe environment,” said ROTA Director Mr. Essa Al Mannai.

After the Board of Trustees meeting, it was agreed to endorse the pending initiative of Reach Out To Arabia; after the success of the Doha Arab Games last December and the ongoing Arab Spring the timing felt right. Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) was born out of the love of the major sporting events- The Doha Asian Games 2006.

This is another milestone in merging sport and education under a development Banner. Currently ROTA works in Lebanon, Occupied Palestinian Territory and Iraq – Arab Nations in Asia, but plan for our expansion into North Africa will begin under this new initiative.

For the general public, however, Wheels ‘n’ Heels 2012 proved to be a runaway success as Qatar came together to enjoy an action-packed festival, while learning how exciting and rewarding a healthy lifestyle can be.

One of the most popular of the Wheels ‘n’ Heels Action Zones proved to be the ROTA Zone where visitors discovered more about Qatar’s leading education and humanitarian not-for-profit organisation, and how to get involved in the ROTA Volunteer program.

To the delight of the cheering crowd gathered at the Wheels ‘n’ Heels Stage, nine-year-old singing sensation Hala Al Turk captivated the audience before enjoying enthralling performances from U.A.E. singer Fayez Al-Said, Qatar’s singer Ali Abdulsatar and Jordanian Super Star singer Diana Karazon.

The fantastic success of Wheels ‘n’ Heels 2012 was made possible by the participation of a number of prominent corporations and organisations led by Strategic Partner Qatar Cycling Federation, and supported by Qatar Olympic Committee, Aspire, Qatar Diabetes Association, Children Cultural Center, Qtel and Civil Defense.

Reach Out To Asia also wishes to thank all the celebrities who entertained the crowds at Wheels ‘n’ Heels 2012 - Ghanem Al-Muftah, Nada Zeidan, Rania Alwani and the host of Qatar Stars League players.

"Seeing so many families enjoying an active lifestyle together is really encouraging. Thank you to everyone who came along – children, parents, families, celebrities, partners, volunteers, activity providers – for once again making Wheels ‘n’ Heels such a huge success,” added Essa Al Mannai.
