Children love to learn. If they are denied access to knowledge, we also deny them the opportunity to change their lives for the better.

Gender-Sensitive Global Citizenship and Life Skills Education for Youth

Calendar icon
Increasing access to safe education services that offer stability, structure and learning spaces for youth.

This multi-country, 3-year project will provide 72,000 youth in six countries ((Indonesia, Nepal, Pakistan, Zimbabwe, Mozambique & Ivory Coast) with gender-sensitive life skills and global citizenship education. This initiative reaches the most vulnerable youth by providing high quality education content, therefore urging them to explore social concepts such as identity, community norms and socio-economic status. We engage with educators, practitioners, and government institutions in an effort to advocate for, integrate, girls empowerment approaches in local programming at scale. Project partners aim to support youth in the creation of approximately 414 Youth-Led Actions in their respective communities in the six countries. A ‘Youth-Led Action’ is defined as any community level initiative originated and carried out by youth beneficiaries to promote the common good.

The project follows 3 pathways to bring about the desired change:

  • building the capacity of Civil Society Organizations,
  • improving the access to quality life skills and global citizenship education programmes, and
  • integrating girls empowerment components and domains in national discussions and curricula
