British Council Pakistan and EAA Foundation's Internet Free Education Resource Bank
Project Status
This project aimed to continue providing education for children in Pakistan who lacked access to learning materials during school closures caused by COVID-19. In partnership with Education Above All Foundation, the British Council introduced 12 Internet Free Education Resource Bank (IFERB) projects across ten districts in Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reaching 1,000 students aged 8 to 11. The program was designed for families without access to digital platforms and instead relied on in-person engagement between facilitators, teachers, parents, and students. The project included training workshops for facilitators and teachers, along with direct involvement of parents, equipping all three groups with tools to support children’s learning at home. This approach transformed parents into active partners in education, helping them recognise their children’s abilities and hidden talents. Students, in turn, became motivated to experiment with problem-solving and to develop skills that contributed to building stronger connections within their communities.
