Sudan-conflict

The Education Above All (EAA) Foundation expresses its deep concern over the ongoing conflict in Sudan and its detrimental impact on the access to education for thousands of children. EAA calls on the international community to unite in their efforts to safeguard educational institutions, students, and teachers during these challenging times, ensuring the fundamental human right to a safe and quality education is upheld.

The escalating conflict in Sudan has disrupted the education of countless children, putting their futures at risk. It is crucial for all parties involved to prioritize the safety and well-being of children, as well as respect the sanctity of educational spaces.

Maleiha Malik, Executive Director of Protect Education in Insecurity and Conflict (PEIC) at EAA, commented: "The current situation in Sudan highlights the importance of working together to protect education during conditions of conflict and ensure that children have the opportunity to learn and grow in a safe environment. Education is the foundation of prosperous, peaceful, and just societies, and we must strive to preserve it during times of crisis.".

Education Above All urges all parties involved in the conflict to respect the rights of students, teachers, and educational institutions, and to prioritize the needs of children during these challenging times. EAA's #UniteToProtect campaign aims to raise global awareness of the importance of education and the need to protect the future of our next generations by guaranteeing the right to safe, quality education for every child.
