About the job

We are seeking a forward-thinking professional who brings genuine innovation to education. In this capacity, you will lead the design and development of digital learning solutions from AI-powered tools and EdTech platforms to blended models and context-ready digital content for vulnerable learners. You will also drive the integration of emerging technologies across programme’s projects, and initiatives.

Candidates with teaching experience and demonstrated expertise in educational content development will be given strong priority.

Responsibilities

  • Lead ideation for new EdTech solutions challenge notes, concept notes, landscape scans, and rapid needs assessments in crisis settings.
  • Embed AI, generative tools, and data analytics into learning models and digital pedagogy.
  • Identify and pursue collaboration opportunities with EdTech partners, startups, and global tech firms.
  • Design, review, and curate engaging digital learning materials (interactive modules, OERs, multilingual content) suitable for low-connectivity and refugee contexts.
  • Oversee development of EdTech products: apps, platforms, VR/AR tools, offline-first solutions.
  • Ensure all content is inclusive, accessible, and aligned with SDG4 and national curricula.
  • Manage rollout of digital education projects with implementing partners, including partner selection and capacity building.
  • Lead development of teacher training materials on digital pedagogy and tech integration.
  • Co-create MEL frameworks for digital modules (learning analytics, impact measurement).
  • Track project performance using digital data tools; generate insights and data-driven reports.
  • Ensure compliance with ethical AI standards, data privacy, and child protection policies.
  • Review partners’ technical reports and ensure alignment with program objectives.
  • Support project reviews, partner engagement, and program monitoring across different projects and initiatives.
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of EdTech and digital learning solutions (platforms, AI tools, offline content).
  • Work closely with M&E to integrate digital analytics, user trends, and learning insights into MEL.
  • Deliver digital teacher training on tech use, digital pedagogy, and AI literacy.
  • Provide digital analytics dashboards and data-driven insights for continuous product improvement.
  • Ensure all digital assets meet standards for cybersecurity, accessibility, and ethical AI.
  • Support additional assignments or strategic initiatives requested by your supervisor or EAA leadership.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Learning Sciences, or a related field.
  • Degrees in Computer Science, Information Systems, AI, Human-Computer Interaction, or Digital Media are also suitable when combined with education/EdTech experience.
  • Additional certifications in EdTech, AI in Education, Learning Design, Project Management, or Data Analytics are an advantage.

Experience:

  • Previous teaching experience will be given strong priority.
  • Previous experience in educational content development is considered a key requirement.
  • At least 5–7 years of growing, hands-on experience across areas like:
    • Digital education and EdTech solution design.
    • Instructional design and learning content development.
    • AI-enhanced learning tools, adaptive learning systems, or data-driven education platforms.
    • Managing digital education projects in development, humanitarian, or low-resource settings.
    • Partner management, teacher training, and rollout of digital learning solutions.
    • Monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) for digital components.
    • Working with international NGOs, ministries, education clusters, or EdTech providers.

Professional Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong track record designing or implementing digital education or EdTech solutions in development, emergency, or low-connectivity contexts.
  • Experience with AI integration, adaptive learning tools, or learning analytics.
  • Solid background in instructional design, digital content development, or e-learning product development.
  • Experience collaborating with international NGOs, ministries of education, EdTech partners, and global stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage implementing partners, field projects, teacher training, and digital solution deployment.
  • Skilled in conducting landscape scans, needs assessments, concept development, and solution prototyping.
  • Familiarity with data privacy standards, ethical AI, cybersecurity basics, child protection, and SDG4 frameworks.
  • Experience working in refugee settings, emergency contexts, or low-resource environments is a strong plus.

Language Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Arabic is an added advantage.
