Non-formal Education, Vocational Training, and Livelihood Support for Vulnerable Families
Teknaf and Ukhia are two of the seven upazilas (sub-districts) of Cox’s Bazar district which are among the areas of Bangladesh with the highest level of poverty and risk of natural disasters. Based on a needs assessment on the whole communities in the area it was found that it badly needs non-formal education for the children, vocational education and skill training for the youth, disaster preparedness for the community and livelihood support. There is also a need for a refuge from cyclones and a center for the smooth delivery of all these services. Through this project Muslim Aid aims at building capacity of the communities by providing them with basic education, skills and livelihood support so that they can live with human rights and dignity.
