About EAA

Opening up a world of education

Children love to learn. If they are denied access to knowledge, we also deny them the opportunity to change their lives for the better.

Edutab aimed to reach 1,000 learners through selected community learning centers, 30 teachers from two primary schools (Friends School Kongoni Primary School and Common Grounds Kitale), and two staff facilitators from Kongoni Community Library.

The pilot focused on creating internet-free, accessible learning resources in English that could support both school-based and home learning during partial or total school closures. The program promoted the development of 21st-century skills such as computational thinking, critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and social-emotional learning. In addition, the pilot advanced principles of social equity and inclusivity by providing cross-cutting resources that were unbiased and non-discriminatory. It emphasized student engagement while integrating essential literacy and numeracy skills through project-based learning (PBL) methods that foster interactivity, knowledge application, joy, and a sense of challenge.

To ensure sustainability and reduce the digital divide, the pilot also focused on building teachers’ capacity to use and adapt PBL pedagogies, as well as curate and develop individual resources tailored to learners’ needs.
