About EAA

Opening up a world of education

Children love to learn. If they are denied access to knowledge, we also deny them the opportunity to change their lives for the better.

How Silatech Works

Employment

Silatech works with its partners to place young people in meaningful employment and career-building jobs by adequately equipping them with the skills needed to enter the labor market, upskilling them to gain a competitive advantage, and linking them with employers. Silatech aims to bridge the gap between young people’s skills and the labor market’s needs to support the employment of youth in high-demand industries.

Enterprise Development

Silatech empowers young entrepreneurs to start, sustain, or expand their income generation activities and businesses through training, guidance, liaising, and facilitating access to financial services. Silatech works with financing and micro-financing institutions to extend their lending portfolio towards un/under-bankable youth through partial credit guarantee schemes and risk sharing mechanisms that facilitate access to finance for youth to place them into self-employment and help them expand and therefore create additional employment for other youth in their communities.

How We Contribute to the SDGs

SDG 8 Decent Work and Economic Growth: The core of the programme’s work centers on SDG8. Silatech connects young people to economic opportunities through innovative enterprise and employment initiatives that contribute to the economic growth of societies in the Arab region and beyond.

SDG 17 Partnerships for the Goals: As a programme, Silatech believes in partnering with likeminded partners on local, regional and international levels to enable the economic transformation of young people.

SDG 1 Eradicating Poverty: the programme works with vulnerable and marginalized communities and strives to provide youth with the required tools and resources they lack in their lives in order to develop their employability skills and get placed into employment or self-employment. Ultimately, our programs contribute to mitigating the vicious cycle of poverty.

SDG 5 Gender Equality: The programme places significant focus on working with young women to help them contribute financially to their families and communities through supporting skills training and providing access to employment and financing support for income generation opportunities.

Impact

"Humanity will not overcome the immense challenges we face unless we ensure that children get the quality education that equips them to play their part in the modern world." -- HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser
