Our vision is a world where the right to education is protected in situations of conflict and insecurity. We are committed to ensuring that stakeholders are informed by evidence and data; youth, communities and civil society are empowered to advocate for the right to education; human rights, humanitarian and development actors take joint action to safeguard equal access to quality education; and global governance and international law protects the right to education.
PEIC comprises of a two-tier approach, which prioritizes mobilizing partnerships to safeguard the right to education through law and policy advocacy; as well as by empowering youth and civil society with the skills to become advocates for the right to education and sustainable peacebuilding. PEIC focuses on distinct strategic interventions that include thought leadership; data, research and publications; law and policy advocacy; empowerment of youth and communities; and building global coalitions and networks.
Partnerships are crucial to the PEIC vision and we seek to work with:
- Organizations, professionals, students and youth who share PEIC’s vision and mission;
- Law and policy organizations that undertake advocacy to safeguard education in insecurity and conflict;
- Research organizations, academic institutes, researchers or practitioners in the field of international law and policy and education who strive to safeguard education in times of insecurity and conflict; and
- Community-based and local organizations with experience of implementing programmes to empower youth and communities with knowledge and skills to advocate for the right to education and peacebuilding.
