Advocating for Gaza Reconstruction and Development, Al Fakhoora students called on for innovative approaches using technology and social media, during a meetup over the Gazan rubbles in the aftermath of the 51-day Israeli Military Offensive on the Gaza Strip during the summer.

Six students sent messages to Social Good Summit, which was held in New York on September 22nd, bringing the world's most innovative-thought leaders to discuss solutions for the world's development problems and to set the new agenda for 2030 Global Development Vision.

According to the United Nations Development Programs’ news center, the Gaza discussion was part of a global series of conversations hosted by UNDP offices in more than 70 countries where entrepreneurs, innovators, government, development and private sector representatives met to discuss technology, social media and social good.

According to http://mashable.com/, the video done by Gazan Al Fakhoora students was among 10 Social Good Summit Meetups that pushed the idea of inducing change in the world; as despite the arising conflict between Israel and Palestine, this did not stop a group of youth from hosting their own Social Good Summit meetup in Gaza to discuss the future and how technology can help rebuild their country.

Abdul Rahman Ja’arour, 23, Engineering graduate said: “I was so happy that we were able to attain the Gaza youth voice to the world leaders. We, as young people, have innovative approaches that can overcome the massive destruction that has had taken place in Gaza. Our ideas can be implemented to help and aid in reducing poverty and in empowering people.”

For Asma Masoud, 22, Computer Systems Engineering graduate-she said: “It was a great feeling to know and to see that we can break besieged borders and speak on behalf of Gaza to the rest of the world, and to advocate for the development and reconstruction of Gaza. I was pleased to be among Al Fakhoora fellows passing all those messages. I hope the best is to come for Gaza, and I also hope that we can go beyond boundaries to achieve development goals and rebuild Gaza.”

The Social Good Summit is a two-day conference that examines the impact of technology and new media means on social good initiatives around the world:
