“Goals4Good” tournament: Students from 36 Schools in Qatar will Compete in Football and Art Tournaments to Support the Education of Students in Projects of EAA

Sustainability and leadership are key themes in the Ramadan 2023 ‘Goals4Good’ campaign

The Education Above All (EAA) Foundation and its partners will organize a Ramadan ‘Goals4Good tournament consisting of a football and art competition to support selected EAA Foundation projects aiming to help the world’s most vulnerable and marginalized children. Thirty-six 36 schools in Qatar will participate in the tournament as a part of the “Goals4Good” Ramadan 2023 Campaign on March 10.

The event will take place at Doha College, starting at 12pm Doha time, and is expected to last until 8pm. Each football matches during the day culminated in a quarter, semi-final, and final tournament.

The schools will compete in three age categories in football (10-12, 13-15, and 16-18 years of age) for both boys and girls. Teams will be divided into groups and the ultimate winner in each group will play in knockoff stages until they reach the final. The winning team will receive a trophy and certificates of appreciation, as well as medals and prizes for Best Player, Best Goal and Best Goalkeeper.

As well as football, the winners of an art competition with the theme “The Classroom of Tomorrow” will be announced on March 10. Those who want to take part can use any form of artwork to express that theme, the entries will be judged primarily on how well the theme is expressed, as well as colour, neatness, and creativity, The competitors will be divided into two categories (Juniors from 9 to 13 years) and (Seniors from 14 to 18 years). Schools have to submit the art work for entry into the competition by February 28.

There will also be a showcase section for children with different abilities during the “Goals4Good” tournament and several motivational speeches for students during the tournament.

The event will also have a fun aspect of Carnival Small games that the whole family can play and enjoy themselves which volunteers will provide from different companies.

The event is in line with Education Above All Foundation's commitment to its sustainability objectives, Quality Education for All (SDG,4), Good Health and Well-Being (SDG3), and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG17). There will also be a strong emphasis on developing future leaders of Qatar’s Student Community.

The “Goals 4 Good” tournament also encourages students from all walks of life to meet around the shared passion of football. It’s been documented that sport - a recognized essential contributor to the achievement of development and peace goals - promotes tolerance and respect. It also empowers women, young people and communities and has a strong positive impact on health, education and social inclusion.

Private corporates can participate in various sponsorship categories start from 5000 QAR to 100,000 QAR for various visibility and awareness opportunities for their organization during the event while supporting the noble cause of education for marginalized and impoverished children and promoting good health and Leadership among students in Qatar. 100 % of all sponsorship funds will be used for education projects. Private corporations can sponsor a school team and will be given an exclusive branded sponsor kitby EAA. Football fans can buy tickets on EAA’s website educationaboveall.org and the ticket income will fund EAA projects.

The “Goals 4 Good” Ramadan 2023 Campaign will continue to support EAA’s projects across the world with a specific focus on supporting children in Myanmar, Zanzibar, Somalia, Sudan, Mali, Cambodia Together Project, Assalam Schools in Qatar, ROTA Program Project Youth Volunteers for Training and Development and Al Fakhoora Access to higher education in Gaza. These projects assist marginalized and impoverished children with opportunities and hope for a better future, which intends to provide and increase access to educational facilities and resources and improve the quality of education.
